ELLE’s Anne Slowey appropriately titles her fall 2011 commentary, “Lady Killers”, with a punchy kick line that simply states “there’s nothing fussy or frilly about the season’s sophisticated ladies.”

I like fuss and frills as much as the next fashionista, but when it comes to rocking a powerful look – who can protest? As an advocate for suspenders (and yes, these are “jorts” and they are awesome) and 80’s shoulder pads, I happily took the plunge and mixed in masculinity with my own twist.
