What To Wear: Valentine’s Day

February 11, 2013 in Glam: Style & Trends

 Photographer & Stylist: Stephanie Alexis | Make Up: Courtney D’Angelo

 With Valentine’s Day this Thursday, Glam and Graffiti has prepared a quick how-to editorial of how to glam up for any V-Day plan. I matched 3 fabulous girls and 3 great looks! Whether they are going steady or going single, each of these love struck girls dressed for the occasion. Read on!

Who are do you relate to most this Valentine’s Day?

Model, Hilary wears a deep, maroon lace shift dress with romantic, yet edgy, black and gold jewelry. Her plans? Dinner with her long-time sweetie at the funky, new Asian fusion restaurant in town.

Honest, loving, and her best friend, her man is everything she could ask for! But, didn’t he say to be ready at 6 pm…sharp? Where is he?

“For added drama, I drew a sharp, thin cat eye. It emphasizes the beginning of the eye shadow too.” - Make-Up Artist, Courtney D.

Is that him?

It is! Bring on the sushi!

First Date Stomach filled with butterflies, model, Joyce can’t contain her excitement for her afternoon date with the cute boy she met at work. She wants to look put together, but fun and flirty for her first date. Cue the light pink lip gloss!

A lower high heel or boot can still kick up the charm while keeping it casual. Note: Both models sport the same raspberry red. The height of the dress and the country brown vs. the midnight black shoe shifts the mood of the outfit.

Girls just wanna have fun! Just because your Valentine’s Day doesn’t involve a scene filled with chocolates, teddy-bears, and a Taylor Swift love song, does not mean you can’t still go celebrate! Model, Laura chose to celebrate with a girls night out. This va-va-voom look was spiced up by a bright, red lip and a red hot heel to match!

 Ready to dance!

“I applied the red lip with a fine brush and kept adding on the layers! You want to make sure the pigment stays throughout the night till the last song. For a bright, wide-awake look, I used an angled brush, dipped it in white eyeliner and lined the bottom lash line.” – Make-Up Artist, Courtney D.

Aerie ‘Maddie’ Bra Giveaway!

February 14, 2012 in Glam: Style & Trends, Graffiti: Arts & Culture

{Heart this! Valentine’s Day Giveaway from Aerie!}

It’s just another Tuesday.

A normal Tuesday where stores decided that over-sized, red hearts are considered sophisticated and trendy for their windows. A day where the mere hum of Beyonce’s ‘Single Ladies’ can start you on a passionate rant on your current relationship status. And, just another day where you have been hounded by the media to seek out and then give, that perfect gift.

Whether today’s the day you have been dreading because of ex-boyfriend angst or eagerly awaiting to surprise your sweetie, Valentine’s Day certainly causes you to think about one simple word.Love.

It’s simple. It doesn’t matter if you are single, dating, or married…today is really all about recognizing the people in your life that support, care, treasure, and love you.

So there’s no need in sending that letter to Congress arguing that today should not be an official celebrated Holiday…

No need to worry… for you can bet that your homemade card for your sweetie will be his favorite gift thus far…

Tell your family, your most cherished friends, and while you are at it, why not that cutie down the block ;)

{Graffiti} It’s Okay If… Holiday Style.

December 21, 2011 in Graffiti: Arts & Culture

Life is tough. We all need a little break…it’s time to celebrate!

So you know what? It’s okay IF…

… If you swore that pitter-patter on your roof faintly sounded more like Reindeer hooves than a rogue tree branch.

…If you pause any type of calorie counting, carb watching, and sweet swatting diet to indulge on the never-ending savory feasts.

If you spend away your vacation hours at the mall. Hey, if you can handle the crowds and lines of children crying and clamoring for Santa, all the power to you.

…If every time “All I Want For Christmas” starts gearing-up on the radio, you are right there, ready, singing at the top of your lungs and pointing to your invisible lovers. Oh, they know who they are.

…If your dress for New Year’s Eve is more expensive than your Prom Dress.  You only get to count down to 2012 once, why not look smashing.

…If you watched Elf, The Holiday, or Love Actually, or all of the above more than once. Or, in the same week. Or, in the same day.

…If you casually throw in quotes from Elf in everyday conversations. “So, uhm … do you wanna eat food?”

…If regardless of how thick the first snow is and if you are dressed for it, you test to see if it is “packing” snow because face it … that is all that really matters.

…If despite the reviews and the cliché name, you still kind-of-maybe want to see the star-packed film New Year’s Eve.

Hey – it’s okay.

XOXO,

{Glam} 3 Holiday Outfits under $100

December 20, 2011 in Glam: Style & Trends

Christmas is this weekend? Please, someone tell me how time is flying by so quickly!

While you are out shopping for your family and friends it is easy to forget what you are wearing to your upcoming Christmas parties.

1. Friday’s [making awkward conversation with co-workers but, still want to look nice. ] Work Party

2. Saturday’s Christmas Reunion [with high school friends, so hot damn you want to look like you changed from your braces, I-never-met-a-straightener looking years]

3. Christmas Eve Dinner with your family.[Uncle and Aunts, your grandparents, your little cousins, and that one person you call aunt or uncle even with no family relation that always shows-up too.]

Regardless of the dress-to-impress situation, I got you covered!

Sweet, Sassy, and Sophisticated all under $100.

{Dress, ModCloth, $50} {Waist Coat, H&M $23,} {Tights, H&M $5} {Boots, H&M, $23} {Nail Polish,  H&M, $1.54}

Perfect for whatever your Christmas day festivities bring you! This demure, country-inspired look is ideal if you are a morning church-goer, a present-giver or a festive fashionista.

Last Minute Detail: Throw on the fur! Perfect to layer a  subtle and elegant dress or top making you ready for the rugged winter weather.

{Dress, Dorthy Parker, $49}  {Purse, H&M, $7 }   {Lipstick, Rimmel London, $10}  {Platform Heel, ModCloth, $35 }

A simple, sequined black frock paired with statement shoes.  Complete your look with a delicate, long clutch with a charming, gold chain strap.

Simple Secret: Can’t afford a new dress for the party? Don’t fret! Punch up any look with a daring and bold red lip.

Rimmel London’s Kate Moss Red Lipstick is my favorite for a night out. Not too dark and heavy, and perfect to spice-up your outfit.

{Tank, TopShop, $43}   {Ballet Flats, H&M, $12 }  {Essie Nail Polish, Target, $7.79}  {Leggings, H&M, $16}  {Clutch, H&M, $3.09}

Slick, proper, && festive. I love this TopShop tank for a work party when you want to go sleeveless, but keep the shoulders covered.

Paired with sleek black, tailored leggings and patent toed ballet flats.

Running-Out-The-Door Tip: Gloss on a two coats of the Essie {Black} Nail Lacquer and pick-up the great priced gold clutch for a killer color combo.

Enjoy the cocktails, eggnog or sparkling cider!

XOXO,

Glam and Graffiti
