{Glam} Wearing White

What’s white now? Everything. From head to toe, pearly white is the go-to hue of the season. Either by itself, matched with black or brown, or thrown in to tie down a multitude of brights, white is a must-have this spring.  This fringed dress immediately brings me flashes of festivals and fun: last week’s artsy Cochella, outdoor live bands, and romantic summer picnics.

I kept my lips dark with Raisin Shimmer by Ulta. I find this berry hue more romantic sometimes than a bright red.

{Graffiti} Run-a-way Thursday

February 21, 2013 in Graffiti: Arts & Culture

FALL 2013 New York Fashion Week passed faster than a model’s quick change backstage. For those who need a refresher or simply wish to catch up, I have pulled 5 videos of some pretty fabulous presentations. When watching each, I couldn’t help but realize 4 trends that almost all of the shows had in common. Let’s call them, (I call them): Back to Black, Balance Behavior, Slice of Leather, and Minimalist Midriffs.

More to come on Glam and Graffiti of how to take these looks on the runway and add them to your own street look with your personal style. Which is your favorite runway video below? I loved Donna Karan’s heavey-eyed make up and sleek pony tail. What stood out to you?

What To Wear: Valentine’s Day

February 11, 2013 in Glam: Style & Trends

Photographer & Stylist: Stephanie Alexis | Make Up: Courtney D’Angelo

With Valentine’s Day this Thursday, Glam and Graffiti has prepared a quick how-to editorial of how to glam up for any V-Day plan. I matched 3 fabulous girls and 3 great looks! Whether they are going steady or going single, each of these love struck girls dressed for the occasion. Read on!

Who are do you relate to most this Valentine’s Day?

Model, Hilary wears a deep, maroon lace shift dress with romantic, yet edgy, black and gold jewelry. Her plans? Dinner with her long-time sweetie at the funky, new Asian fusion restaurant in town.

Honest, loving, and her best friend, her man is everything she could ask for! But, didn’t he say to be ready at 6 pm…sharp? Where is he?

“For added drama, I drew a sharp, thin cat eye. It emphasizes the beginning of the eye shadow too.” - Make-Up Artist, Courtney D.

Is that him?

It is! Bring on the sushi!

First Date Stomach filled with butterflies, model, Joyce can’t contain her excitement for her afternoon date with the cute boy she met at work. She wants to look put together, but fun and flirty for her first date. Cue the light pink lip gloss!

A lower high heel or boot can still kick up the charm while keeping it casual. Note: Both models sport the same raspberry red. The height of the dress and the country brown vs. the midnight black shoe shifts the mood of the outfit.

GNO

Girls just wanna have fun! Just because your Valentine’s Day doesn’t involve a scene filled with chocolates, teddy-bears, and a Taylor Swift love song, does not mean you can’t still go celebrate! Model, Laura chose to celebrate with a girls night out. This va-va-voom look was spiced up by a bright, red lip and a red hot heel to match!

 Ready to dance!

“I applied the red lip with a fine brush and kept adding on the layers! You want to make sure the pigment stays throughout the night till the last song. For a bright, wide-awake look, I used an angled brush, dipped it in white eyeliner and lined the bottom lash line.” – Make-Up Artist, Courtney D.

{Graffiti} Fragrance Winner + Weekend Wrap Up

November 5, 2012 in Graffiti: Arts & Culture

This past weekend was a whirl wind! I am sure it flew by for you as well. While the last crumbs of pumpkin pie are being quickly chipped away as well as your creative (and maybe even creepy) costumes, we take a faithful seasonal turn to
warm apple-pie and many, many more layers of clothing to keep us toasty and warm. Most importantly it is now “sweater weather” – twenty-four seven.  Find me on campus this week and you can bet I will be rockn’ a warm, bright sweater,  a heavy-loaded bag on my back, and a coffee in my hand.  Other than food and clothing (though, two things I find key in my life…) this month has a lot in store for Glam and Graffiti! Inside interviews with beauty and cosmetic directors, behind-the-scene looks at your favorite designers, winter trends, beauty advice,  and much more!

[Today's office space. Please note the Holiday cup. Already? Okay Starbucks...]

[First sweater that celebrates "sweater weather"! A neon purchase over the weekend from Jupe Boutique.]

[Studying + Starbucks]

Oh! And last, but certainly not least - I have the privilege of announcing the American Eagle and Aerie Fragrance Giveaway winners! Drum roll please….

Congrats! I loved reading everyone’s Halloween plans and hope you all had a very Happy Halloween.

Join me on Twitter and say hello!  Till then -

{Graffiti} Admire & Be Inspired

One more day till the weekend. A few more days of 90 degree heat. Between work, school, friends, and family, there seems to be such a small segment of time to sit back, relax and focus in on what you need. This week, I have collected 10 inspirational photos to energize your style & mind.

Let yourself admire even the smallest things in life. Your understanding, appreciation, and personal growth will prosper from your new found inspiration.

I hope you enjoy.

How Sweet It Is – Simple Sugars Giveaway Winners

March 27, 2012 in Contests/ Giveaways

And, the winners of the Simple Sugar Scrubs are…

Michelle T.

Anna E.

and

 Andrea B.

Congrats girls! Each one of you will be sent a Simple Sugars Coconut Body Scrub!

I really enjoyed reading the graffiti you guys wrote answering the question,

“what makes you feel beautiful?”

“What makes me feel beautiful is glowing skin, and having a good hair and make up day. :)

“Treating myself to a manicure & pedicure makes me feel beautiful :)

“What makes me feel beautiful is good friends and great moments.”

“My skin makes me feel beautiful!”

“What makes me feel beautiful is when I have a mini spa day for myself. Exfoliate from head to toe, apply a nice scented lotion, do my fingernails and toenails etc…”

“That clean fresh feeling when you aren’t wearing make-up but you know your skin looks healthy and clear. A good hair day would help too!”

“What makes me feel beautiful is when a friend comments how beautiful you look and realize it’s the one day you are not wearing make up. Laughing

Happy Monday!
