Wearing red is strange. I’m talking the, primary color, red. Growing up I never had anything red in my closet, in fear that adorning the color would only increase the chance that my pale skin would somehow absorb it’s color and become begrudgingly flushed. Alas, one day as I mosied to my local Goodwill, I stumbled upon this red cashmere sweater. Used, but only a mere $4, and unforgivably soft, I picked it up excited with my new find. With autumn quickly approaching I found my estranged sweater becoming more inviting.
I am all about comfort. While my sweater was indeed one of the most comfortable and warm pieces in my closet, I wasn’t quite yet sure if I was ready to don the loud piece. This was no time to be a wallflower.
What do you do if you are rocking a loud piece? Make it LOUDER! Okay, so that’s usually not my advice…but I was ready to try something new. Thus, the polka dotted socks. The small, red dots connected the outfit from head-to-toe, while the maroon toned down the fire engine red.
